Sessions and pairs the desks cover
Forex trades around the clock in sessions. The Tokyo, London and New York windows each have their own pace, and London into New York is usually the busiest. The desks span major pairs such as EUR/USD and GBP/USD, the crosses, and a few minors. Some run quick intraday trades; others hold a swing for days. Every source keeps its own channel so styles do not blur.
How gold rooms differ
Gold, quoted as XAUUSD, gets its own desks. It moves faster and wider than most currency pairs and reacts hard to rate news and risk swings. The call format is familiar — entry, targets and a stop — but the range is larger, so position size matters more. Keeping the metal in a separate room means its bigger swings do not drown out a calm currency feed.
Spreads and news-event caveats
Spreads widen when liquidity thins, around the daily rollover and into big releases. A news print can gap price straight through a stop, which is a real cost the entry line never shows. Treat data days with care, size down into them, and remember delivery is fast but never guaranteed. Confirm a live price before you act on a call that looks late.
